The devastating terrorism epidemic continues to dominate the news, as earlier this week it was reported that an 85 year old Catholic Priest had been murdered in Normandy, Northern France.

Major cities all across the globe are now on high alert and British security services have warned that an attack on the UK is ‘very likely’.

Whilst it is not our intention to scare you, we do want to stress the importance to our church insurance clients to be extra vigilant during such an unstable time. We therefore advise that you assess your current security systems and ensure you have adequate CCTV, alarms and security doors.

All windows and points of access should also be monitored closely and locked when not in use. In response to the suffering happening in our neighbouring countries, the UK Government has launched a security funding scheme. The £2.4m fund is available to places of worship in England and Wales.

Applications for the fund are now open and the deadline date is the 20th September at 5pm. We strongly advise Church organisations to visit www.gov.uk/guidance/places-of-worship-security-funding-scheme

If you would like to discuss your security arrangements with a member of the team, please call us on 01206 760780.

Remain alert and report any suspicious activity to the police on 999 or the anti-terrorist hotline on 0800 789 321.
