Creating a fundraising event is a great way to build awareness and raise funds in support of a worthy cause. Here are 5 tips to help you plan and execute a successful fundraising campaign!

1) Dare To Be Different
There are a number of activities that are quite popular amongst fundraisers and whilst there is nothing wrong with this, you may decide that you want to do something more out of the box! Dedicate time to do some research and brainstorm ideas.
A unique and creative fundraising idea can help generate word of mouth marketing for your campaign.

2) Spread The Word Online
Using the internet can compliment your campaign perfectly. Creating an account on fundraising platforms such as JustGiving will give people the opportunity to donate money safely online.

Social media is another useful tool. You can share your personal fundraising page on your social network sites and encourage friends and family to share. Sites such as Twitter and Facebook will also allow you to keep people updated on your fundraising journey!

3) Look Local
At WRS, we are always open to support good causes and give back to the community, and many other businesses are too. It may be a good idea to approach local businesses – let them know your fundraising story and the different ways they can support you.

Even if they are not in a position to financially help you, they may be willing to let their business connections know, as well as their friends and family.

4) Stay Safe
We want your fundraising experience to be enjoyable, but we also want those involved to be safe. Before beginning your campaign, please contact the relevant authorities to confirm that you are following legal requirements. It is also important that you have the right insurance cover to protect against any adverse situations.

5) Be Thankful
Saying thank you is a simple, yet effective way to let people know just how much their support means to you. You may decide to show your appreciation by keeping people up-to-date on the development of the campaign. You can achieve this by sending out messages on social media or even keeping an online scrapbook/journal for people to read.

If you are currently fundraising or planning to, we would love to hear from you! We would also like to extend our well wishes.
