Are you planning an eggstravagent event to celebrate Easter? Make sure you have a crackin’ time by remembering to plan for the unforeseeable with Easter event insurance.
Regardless of how much preparation goes into an event, there is still the risk that an accident could occur. The right insurance cover will ensure you are protected should the worst happen.
Events can be very diverse in their nature, hence why it is important to consider the type of event you are organising and discuss this information with your broker. Your broker should then be in a position to advise you on the appropriate cover and make you aware of any existing policy that may be valid for the event.
If you plan to host a number of events during the year, it is likely that you have multiple-events cover in place; however, insurance cover is also available for one-off events. Event organisers tend to purchase public liability insurance which provides cover if someone is injured or their property is damaged. Whilst public liability is not compulsory, it may be a mandatory requirement depending on the venue.
Other types of cover include property insurance, employers liability and terrorism. Please remember to check the proposed insurance policy thoroughly to ensure you are sufficiently covered; for example, does the policy include cover for financial loss in the unfortunate instance that the event is cancelled?
Also, depending on the type of event, you may want to include features considered ‘extras’, such as non-appearance which is activated when a special guest who has been booked to attend on the day doesn’t show up.
Lastly, if you intend to hire the help of third parties (e.g. bouncy castle vendors), then remember to confirm whether they have the appropriate insurance needed to function on the day.
Would you like peace of mind knowing you’re sufficiently covered? Our team of friendly and dedicated account handlers would be more than happy to discuss your event requirements. Please call or email WRS, knowledgeable event insurance brokers for a free, no obligation quotation.
Have an eggcellent Easter!
